This Black Liberation Movement Political Statement was first published in 1976. The conclusions that it shares are still relevant and could have been written in 2023. The BLA reminds us to defend against allowing technology to be used as a weapon against our collective interests or as a tool of control. Keep in mind, this was written some 30 years before the advent of social media.

The Political statement explains how the adoption of status-quo values are both financially and politically destructive. The statement describes how a Black-first mindset without a corresponding value system makes us vulnerable to the worst traitors.

The BLA Political Statement addresses these issues and many more. It should be read or heard by all within the African Diaspora that are striving for a better tomorrow.

A quote from Message to the Black Movement:

“We have written these political positions from the perspective of the Armed Front because we feel that such a perspective is needed in the total revolutionary process for Black liberation. We are general in our public statement because we are essentially a military and political front, therefore it would not do to speak in any other terms, for the actions of the armed front will address themselves to the specifics of our people’s national oppression. Our call is for Unity, For a National BLACK LIBERATION FRONT. We must build to win!”
